MLB Ejection 024 - Alan Porter (1; Chris Devenski)

1B Umpire Alan Porter ejected Pirates pitcher Chris Devenski (throwing at Reds batter Sal Stewart) in the top the 7th inning of the #Reds-#Pirates game. With none out and none on, Reds batter Stewart took a 0-0 sinker from Pirates pitcher Devenski for a called first ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located inside and waist-high; warnings had not previously been issued and immediately followed a situation in which Devenski may have come set before Stewart was alert to him—a violation of the Scherzer Rule—resulting in a "time" call and pitch clock reset, the call was irrecusable. At time of the ejection, the Pirates were leading, 15-6. The Pirates ultimately won the contest, 17-7.
