MLB Instant Replay Review S-40: Gary Cederstrom (S-1)

Instant replay affirmed 1B Umpire Gary Cedersrom's safe call in the top of the 7th inning of the Tigers-Nationals game. With two out and none on, Tigers batter Ezequiel Carrera hit a 2-2 pitch from Nationals pitcher Xavier Cedeno to left fielder Bryce Harper, who fielded the grounder and threw to first baseman Ryan Zimmerman as Carrera retreated to first base after rounding. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Nationals Manager Matt Williams, Cederstrom's ruling that Zimmerman did not tag Carrera prior to Carrera's retouch of first base was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the instant replay review, the game was tied, 1-1. The Tigers ultimately won the contest, 2-1.
