MLB Ejection 098: Quinn Wolcott (3; Bob Melvin)

HP Umpire Quinn Wolcott ejected Athletics Manager Bob Melvin for arguing a previously argued foul ball call (Unsportsmanlike-NEC; DiMuro Rule) in the top of the 8th inning of the Red Sox-Athletics game. With two out and two on, Red Sox batter Mike Napoli attempted to strike a 2-2 slider from A's pitcher Luke Gregerson for a called foul ball. Replays indicate the pitched ball entered the catcher's glove and did not contact the ground, the call is irrecusable pursuant to the DiMuro Rule concerning previously argued calls. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 1-1. The Athletics ultimately won the contest, 2-1, in 10 innings.
