MLB Instant Replay Review 572: Tom Hallion (06)

Instant Replay Review overturned 3B Umpire Tom Hallion's safe call in the bottom of the 1st inning of the Orioles-Yankees game. With none out and none on, Yankees batter Brett Gardner hit a 3-1 cutter from Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman on a line drive to right fielder Nick Markakis, who threw to second baseman Jonathan Schoop to third baseman Manny Machado as Gardner slid into third base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Orioles Manager Buck Showalter, Hallion's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 0-0. The Orioles ultimately won the contest, 8-0.
