Injury Scout - Kulpa Out as Brewers Cross Up Again

HP Umpire Ron Kulpa left Monday's Cardinals-Brewers game in Milwaukee after a cross-up between pitcher Junior Guerra and catcher Yasmani Grandal led to a run-scoring passed ball favoring St. Louis.

With one out and the bases loaded, Cardinals batter Paul Goldschmidt took a first-pitch 94-mph fastball that eluded catcher Grandal's mitt, striking Kulpa directly in his traditional-style facemask.

3B Umpire Jerry Meals assumed plate duties following the invocation of concussion protocol, while 2B Umpire Nic Lentz moved to third base and 1B Umpire Marty Foster remained at first.

Relevant Injury History: Kulpa does not have a recent history of game-ending head trauma.

Last Game: April 15 | Return to Play: April 20 | Time Absent: 4 Days | Video as follows:
Alternate Link: Kulpa is the third umpire knocked out of a Brewers game in the past week (MIL)
