MLB Instant Replay Review 079: Angel Hernandez (01)

Instant Replay Review upheld 1B umpire Angel Hernandez's out call in the top of the 3rd inning of the Nationals-Braves game. With none out and one on, Nationals batter Nate McLouth bunted a 0-0 fastball from Braves pitcher Alex Wood to third baseman Chris Johnson, who threw to first baseman Freddie Freeman as McLouth arrived at first base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Nationals Manager Matt Williams, Hernandez's ruling that Freeman caught the ball and tagged first base ahead of McLouth's touch arrival was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Braves were leading, 4-1. The Braves ultimately won the contest, 6-3.
