MLB Replay Reviews 412-413: Doug Eddings (10-11)

Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Doug Eddings' safe call in the bottom of the 5th and confirmed Eddings' out call in the top of the 9th inning of the Mets-Phillies game. In the 5th, with two out and one on, Phillies baserunner R1 Domonic Brown attempted to steal second base off Mets catcher Anthony Recker, who threw to shortstop Ruben Tejada as Brown slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Mets Manager Terry Collins, Eddings' ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Mets were leading, 3-0.

In the 9th, with two out and one on, Mets baserunner R1 Curtis Granderson attempted to steal second base off Phillies catcher Will Nieves, who threw to shortstop Jimmy Rollins as Granderson slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Mets Manager Collins, Eddings' ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Mets were leading, 4-3. The Mets ultimately won the contest, 5-4, in 14 innings.
