MLB Instant Replay Review 122: Doug Eddings (01)

Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Doug Eddings' safe call in the bottom of the 3rd inning of the Reds-Cubs game. With one out and one on, Cubs baserunner Emilio Bonifacio attempted to steal second base off Reds pitcher Homer Bailey and catcher Devin Mesoraco, who threw to shortstop Zack Cozart as Bonifacio arrived at second base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Reds Manager Bryan Price, Eddings' ruling that Cozart did not catch the ball and tag Bonifacio while he was off his base was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Reds ultimately won the contest, 8-2.
