MLB Instant Replay Review 128: Paul Schrieber (04)

Instant Replay Review upheld 2B Umpire Paul Schrieber's fan interference (HR no-) call in the bottom of the 9th inning of the Orioles-Red Sox game. With one out and none on, Red Sox batter Dustin Pedroia hit a 1-1 fastball from Orioles pitcher Brian Matusz in the air to left-center field and towards the Fenway Park "green monster." Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a request by Red Sox Manager John Farrell and initiation by Crew Chief Ted Barrett, Schrieber's ruling that a fan reached out onto the field of play and touched the live ball while it was over the field of play resulting in spectator interference was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 5-5. The Red Sox ultimately won the contest, 6-5.

This is Paul Schrieber (43)'s fourth Instant Replay Review of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
